Vented Apparel - Brand Advertisement

Vented Apparel is an apparel brand based in Ocean Grove.

The goal was brand awareness through a stylised, artistic brand film.

The client wrote and supplied the script. I shot it, in a heavily desaturated, dark neo-noir visual style throughout.

A genuinely eclectic shoot, built from a real handful of striking, distinct scenes rather than one continuous narrative. A model wears the clothing in a raw industrial setting, all concrete and hard light. A large pit bull sits on a chain, right in frame alongside the styling. A hydraulic lowrider car bounces on its suspension down a street in Melbourne's Chinatown. One of the models holds a live snake. A drummer sequence adds its own rhythm and energy into the mix. All of it is cut together with very fast, intense editing, jumping hard between scenes rather than letting any one moment settle, which is what gives the film its dark, neo-noir pace.
