Alex Mioni - Rooftop Hang Giveaway Promo

Alex Mioni is a long-time VBC client, a travel-focused social media influencer and videographer.

The goal was to promote a giveaway run by Runderlust, a random prize draw with prizes supplied by multiple brands including GoPro, LSKD, Doctor Hydrate, and RACV Noosa Resort.

Heavy VFX work. Alex was filmed hanging by his fingertips from the edge of a shipping container against a green screen. I rotoscoped him out, replaced the background with real city rooftop footage, and matched the colour and shadow work to sell the illusion that he's hanging from the edge of a real building. This was one of several similar VFX pieces I did for Alex regularly.

The joke pays off when he "drops": the shot cuts and he's simply standing on the green screen floor, having fallen only a tiny distance, nowhere near the height the setup implies.
